Voice assistant for the family: organise the tribe with your hands in the washing-up
Alfred, Zoku's AI assistant. Events, groceries, meals, tasks, notes and expenses added by voice, in the right tribe. Android and iOS.
The thought always arrives at the wrong moment: at the wheel, baby in your arms, hands in the dough. « We need more milk », « the paediatrician said Thursday 3pm », « I paid £40 for school meals ». Three seconds later it is gone. Alfred listens, understands and files it away (in the tribe's list, calendar or cashbox), and the whole household sees it.
Why voice changes what gets logged
An organisation app is only worth what you put in it. And what you put in depends on one thing: how long it takes at the moment the information turns up.
A perfect app nobody fills stays empty. What is not noted within ten seconds never will be, and turns into mental load.
Siri or Google add a reminder for you. Alfred adds an event for the tribe, which your partner sees on their phone.
Kitchen, car, pushchair, supermarket aisle. The moments you think about organising are exactly the ones with no free hand.
Alfred understands each person's language. The Spanish-speaking partner dictates in Spanish, the item lands in the same list.
What Alfred can do
Alfred does more than transcribe: he picks the action and fills in the right entry, in the right section of the active tribe.
An event to the calendar, an item to Check, a meal to At Table, a task assigned to someone, an expense to La Caisse, a note on The Wall, a product to the stock.
« What have we got on this weekend? », « What is left on the list? », « What are we eating Thursday? », « How much have we spent this month? »
« No, it was Wednesday », « push the shopping task to Friday », « assign the cleaning to Paul ». Alfred keeps the thread and edits what he has just created.
« I have courgettes, rice and chicken » → meal ideas from what is left. One suggestion a day included, unlimited with Premium.
Alfred acts in the active tribe: switch to « Flatshare », dictate, and it lands in the flatshare. And he always answers in the language he was spoken to.
A few sentences, and what Alfred does with them
- « Add milk and eggs » → shopping list
- « Dentist Tuesday 10am » → tribe calendar
- « Pizza Friday night » → meal plan
- « Remind Theo to take the bins out » → task assigned to Theo
- « 40 pounds of school meals paid by me » → expense in La Caisse
- « Note: wifi code 4821 » → memo on The Wall
Four moments where it really helps
« Add parents' evening Thursday 6pm ». The event is in the tribe's calendar before the lights turn green.
→ The shared family calendar« Size 3 nappies on the list ». One hand for the baby, the other for nothing at all.
→ The shared shopping list« What are we eating tomorrow? », then « add cream ». Your hands stay in the dough.
→ The meal planner« 63 pounds of groceries paid by me ». The expense is in La Caisse, with the right payer, still in the car park.
→ Shared household expensesWhat Alfred does not do
- He is not always listening. No wake word, no microphone open in the background: he only starts when you press the button.
- He does not chat. No small talk, no advice: he carries out an action in the tribe, then tells you what he did.
- He does not decide for you. Every action stays editable and deletable, exactly as if you had typed it in.
- He passes nothing on. What he records stays in your tribe, hosted in Europe, exportable and deletable (GDPR).
FAQ - Alfred, Zoku's voice assistant
Is Alfred always listening?
No. He only wakes when you tap the microphone in the app. There is no wake word and no background listening.
What happens if Alfred gets it wrong?
He recaps what he did: « I have added the dentist appointment on Tuesday at 10am ». If that is wrong, you simply carry on: « no, it was Wednesday ». Alfred keeps the thread and corrects the entry he has just created.
Can it be used in a language other than English?
Yes. Alfred understands the language he is spoken to and answers in the same one. A French-speaking partner dictates in French, and the item lands in the same tribe list.
How many requests are free?
Three per day per person, reset at midnight, plus one recipe suggestion a day. Premium makes Alfred unlimited.
Is Alfred a chatbot?
No. He carries out actions in your tribe: add, edit, look up, suggest. He does not make conversation, he tidies up.
Say it, and it is filed away
